Where to Begin?
The Pastorate of Prince of Peace & St. Francis de Sales invites you to reserve one of three pastorate venues to celebrate your wedding: either the historic stone chapel, the main church on the St. Francis de Sales campus, or the main church on the Prince of Peace campus. Pastorate venues and clergy calendars allow for the scheduling of weddings at 1 p.m. on Saturday or Friday evenings. Engaged couples should contact the pastorate a minimum of six months prior to the desired wedding date. You must reserve a pastorate venue before you plan the reception.
Contact either the pastor or associate pastor to start the paperwork and complete the pre-nuptial investigation. At this meeting, you will set the wedding and rehearsal dates/times. The pastorate and the Archdiocese of Baltimore will also provide you with information on marriage preparation programs. After you have met with the priest or deacon and confirmed his availability and the pastorate’s venue, your wedding date will be set! With this date committed, you may now reserve your reception facility.
Note: While a priest is required for a Mass, either a priest or a deacon can perform a ceremony. If you want a Roman Catholic priest or deacon from outside this pastorate to officiate your wedding, the visiting priest or deacon must request permission from the pastor to perform the ceremony. He must also present a letter of suitability where it states he is a priest in good standing.
